The Hasselblad International Photography Award

An effect to equal the occasion
Imago was asked to provide elegant decor that would serve to guide visitors through the event’s magnificent venue — the Gothenburg Museum of Art. Inspired by the gelatin silver process of black-and-white film development, all decorations used spheroid silver balloons.
In the foyer, guests were greeted by prodigious balloon garlands on either side the museum’s wide stairway, lit from beneath for extra effect. Gigantic chaplets, composed of balloons in decreasing sizes, hung from the foyer’s ceiling, framing the museum’s twin vestibules.
Walls, corners, and railings were decorated throughout the building, resulting in a total effect equal to the occasion.
